Last night was interesting. Luke fights and gets a muscle up like I’ve never seen before. I can’t believe it…what a fight Luke! George power bombs and squats 255 with impeccable form and he had plenty left in the tank for more. Aaron gets a 155 PR in the snatch even though he hasn’t snatched in months. Jenny, our Ultimate Frisbee gal, pulls 225 PR on her deadlift (over 1.5 BW now). Eric snatched 205 and that was just fun to watch. Nice work everyone.

Nice snatches dudes and Luke what an epic battle on the rings! Your facial expressions, bulging eyes, and full-body squirming are an unstoppable combination. Way to go.

Um, I’m pretty sure my PR was @ 165. Check the footage!

Luke’s gotta patent that variation of the muscle up… I can’t wait to try it!

Looks like Eric has another 50 lbs in the snatch. That was practically a power snatch (although a cool frog variation).

I think the video is 195, i got fully under 205 and caught it pretty low and the oh squat was easy.

my problem on the snatch has always been catching it low in an oh squat, if i could figure that out i could probably do 250+

    Wow! nice job everyone!
    Luke, that muscle-up is epic.

You’ll be pumpin’ a couple out at a time soon enough!

    EW-
I agree, you pull the bar plenty high to do a lot more weight. I don’t know if it’s important to you to snatch more, but doing some drop snatch (aka snatch balance) with a substantial weight would probably help. They are like OHS but much more dynamic and definitely a step up. They let you practice moving your feet and using some real weight. Maybe we’ll get to do some in class.

Meanwhile i’ll be doing my beach exercises down here of biceps curls and crunches.
    best,

we’ve done those in class once before and they seem like they would help.

i wouldn’t mind getting back up there again, i think the most i ever did at oregon was either 231 or 242 but that was pretty much a full on power snatch…i always had a much easier time catching the clean in a full front squat and getting it up.

keep up those curls…tell jayia i said what’s up if you see him
