Number 1 or Number 2?

Before an intense WOD, I’ve noticed people quickly rushing to the bathroom. Nerves, excitement, and all those other feelings get mixed up right before you start into a powerful parasympathetic cocktail. I was debating with Jesper that most people would be going to the bathroom for a quick “number 2″. His position is that “number 1″ is more the norm. What do you think? Leave your number in the comments.
1) Deadlift 15-12-9 Use the same weight, take PLENTY of rest between rounds
2) 50 GHD situps, breaking as needed
DROM:
Prone Scorpion variations
Spinal Rock variations
Monica, we got it on video this time! Your look of satisfaction into the distance after that pull up is why we love coaching. Congrats.
Monica first kipping pull up from CrossFit Portland on Vimeo.
Jake just finished three months with us and he told me last night he has lost 15 lbs since starting! Jake comes about 3-4 times a week and if you’ve seen Jake workout, you know he loses 5 lbs of sweat every time he does a push up
Way to go Jake and your “fighting weight” is just around the corner.

Roger chose the snatch options for 30 times overhead. I like it!

Travis: “God, I’m manly!”

I first thought that it was #1 a lot, but when I get REALLY nervous before a WOD, it’s mos def #2.
If you’re not nervous before a WOD, even a little bit though, there’s something wrong with you….
I only go to the bathroom before the WOD to prolong the inevitable with the hope no one notices I am gone. I am 0 for 1000 on that trick. Great job Jakester on the droppage of pounds. Roger! Solid Performance! and Travis, breaking an already broken bar is not much to be proud of. : )Nice try though
#1 always. Nothing is worse than a remotely full bladder before a WOD, it is just an annoying feeling. I think to myself…okay am I ready for this wod? hair is pulled back, shoes double knotted….Oh I think I could just go to the bathroom to be fully ready! I think nerves and excitement go along with it. I know guys that once they start running, they have to go #2…maybe that is a guy thing?
#1 right when I get to the gym, sometimes right before the WOD as well and #2 hour to a couple hours before a bad WOD. Paleo has me on a clock haha.
Jake keep it up man!
Solid choice Roger.
It’s a number one for me, always.
I almost always drop a duece before a workout, been doing that for a long time.
I like to mock Travis when he appears on the website. However that picture…. is adorable.
Oh and 1.6
First of all, congrats on the Pullup Monica and way to go Jake!
This is hands down my favorite post topic ever. I go for broke on the can before every workout. Then if it’s a serious WOD, I go back for more. You can always do more pullups when the pipes are clear! It’s never planned, but it’s the one part of my warmup I never skip. (# 1 is also equally as important).
LOL, for me it seems like its #1..twice sometimes. I agree with Jess C.
That pic of Travis is adorable..I agree.. I enjoy the XX and Travis exchanges.it cracks me up.
oh, and also all the names mentioned above for the “#2″ – my bro would say “dropping the kids off at the pool” – I suppose that is definitely important to keep on track with a good WOD.
Adam – I stole “drop a duece” from you.
Jess – there is something worse than having to pee durning a workout. It is having to crap.
Jim-that’s gross, I would never say such a thing. But you’ll also never catch me doin a WOD without it! Have a good weekend guys!
What do WOD and DROM stand for?
Totally #2! I’m surprised there aren’t more. I guess it’s me and Jim!
During a WOD I never want to release a fart with a solid center, as Ripp puts it.
