Next up in for the Who’s Who we have Leah.  Leah and her husband Cole (to be featured in a future Who’s Who) have been coming to the gym about three and a half months.  In that time i have seen Leah make great strides in her lifting ability, nervous at first about heavy weights and now confidently attacking them. I was especially impressed this past week when she completed the 100 Sandbag Get Ups at 50-60% bodyweight workout as prescribed. Not an easy feat. Keep up the great work!

How were you introduced to Crossfit?  initially  Cole told me about it .  Then I was checking out a website about this tattooed punk rock ultra marathon runner who called herself a “crossfit junkie”  I was wooed.

Favorite WOD/lift: CHIPPERS!

I have always wanted to have: a half way decent car

1 word people use to describe me: determined…crazy..?

Outside of the gym I like to:  teach a rock&roll class at my daughters school….love on my daughters,   cut and color hair,    eat a lot of chicken

Something nobody knows about me or would be surprised to know about me:   Um,  I love donuts?

Favorite physical activity outside of Crossfit: running long distances ,  working out with my mom,  hanging out with Cole/ drinking wine and listening to music (thats physical, right?)

Favorite place to eat in Portland: La Bonitas

Song that gets me pumped up for a workout: Metal militia ( Metallica..before the rockumentary)

Proudest accomplishment:  I don’t have a single proud accomplishment ,  Having close relationships with my friends and family, watching my kids grow up

Bald Hill Farms stopped by the gym on Saturday with their grass fed meats. Post a comment to the blog if you are looking to split a 1/4 of a cow or pig. I’m sure somebody else would be interested as well.

I learned how to climb a rope through CrossFit. At first, I wrapped the rope around my leg and ended up with vicious rope burns! There had to be a kinder way and I adopted a different technique. Not only less rope burns, but it felt easier to climb rope this way. It’s all about the feet and here is how you can practice, no rope required.
