For this next Who’s Who we have Kristi!

How were you introduced to Crossfit? –Brian and I have known Jess and XiXia since before Crossfit/paleo, if you can imagine such a time. We were around when XiXia became a part owner of Crossfit and basically from that time until we started On Ramp (this past November) I resisted it and said it was something I could never do. We came to the gym a few times to meet before leaving for happy hour and I would see people jumping on boxes or flipping tires and just figured I could never possibly do that and talked myself out of it for a few years. I even looked at the website almost everyday for about a year and just keep saying “I could never do that!”. XiXia calls me a “recovering spinner” because before Crossfit I was going to about 4-5 spin classes a week and often times staying after those classes for an 15 ab class and 60 min core class. After about almost 2 years of that and very little change in terms of fitness and strength and the big 3-0 birthday approaching Brian and I decided to come in for an intro and to do baseline. We did and I loved it and started On Ramp and have been addicted ever since!
Favorite WOD/lift: Anything with KB’s, rowing, box jumps, or double unders..mostly because I am better at these then my husband-Brain, so its more fun chasing him in those WOD’s then when we have to run 400M.

I have always wanted to-Own my own bake shop and/or party planning business and/or be a paleo life coach!
1 word people use to describe me: organized
Outside of the gym I like to-Hang out with Brian, go hiking, wine tasting, get back to NY to see family, host paleo dinner parties, do anything party/event planning related

Something nobody knows about me or would be surprised to know about me: Pre paleo days I loved to eat frozen ravioli. Straight from the freezer, as is, no cooking required. After a hard day at work I’d have one as a treat! Post paleo I can’t stop drinking olive juice. Not as in a dirty martini, but just the olive juice straight from the jar (green olives only). SO GOOD!
Favorite physical activity outside of Crossfit: wine tasting. It can get pretty intense and become a workout when we go!

Favorite place to eat in Portland: It is in Beaverton and called Monteaux’s Public House. We go at least once a week. They are good about substitutions and have a great staff. Some of the waitresses know us so well and know what I will and will not eat they don’t even blink at how I order and know I always want double veggies. And they always give Brian a hard time when he orders his chocolate mouse bc they know its not part of “paleo!”.
Song that gets me pumped up for a workout: Anything by Lady Gaga of course!
Proudest accomplishment: I think its pretty cool how Brian and I picked up and moved 3000 miles across the country without really have much of a clue as to what we were getting into and without knowing anyone, but I am saving my big/proudest accomplishment for the pullup, then handstand pushup, and then muscle up!

Hooray Kristi!!
You are the best. Thanks for making CrossFit so fun and for being my “paleo life coach”
Great write-up Kristi. Always a pleasure to have you and Brian in class. With your work ethic, I’m sure you’ll achieve all those proudest moments you’re waiting for, probably sooner than you think.
Kristi, it was so much fun reading your write-up! I love finding out more about fellow members of CrossFit PDX. Hope to see you soon!
Good Luck with your hike today Kristi!!

Kris, you’re inspire and awesome!!
Yay Kristi! I love working out with you. Thanks for inspiring me with my own “life goals”! We’re gonna tear up that pull-up bar someday SOON.
I never thought Kristi would do CrossFit! When Brian called me and said they BOTH were going to do On Ramp I was floored. I was so excited for them though!
If Kristi can change her mind and give CrossFit a try, I now believe anyone can
Kristi , working out with you has been so fun! You are completely motivating and inspirational. Your dedication to paleo continues to impress me! Remember, x fit until we’re old and gray:)

It’s pretty much all been said so I’ll just reiterate…you are so much fun to work out with, and such an inspiration. You’ll be hitting that pullup in no time!
