Your First CrossFit Class

Personal attention and individualized training goals are of utmost importance to us. In your first CrossFit class, a trainer will focus on teaching you the movements, guide you through your first workout, and want to know your training goals. In just a few classes, your movements will become more efficient, you will gain measurable strength, and before you know it, your warm-ups will be harder than your first CrossFit workout! clubbellCrossFit combines fundamental movements, high intensity, and variability together for a powerful physical stimulus called the “Workout-of-the-Day” (WOD). Every day will have a different WOD and you will be constantly challenged and never get bored! Classes focus on a combination of different themes such as Olympic weightlifting to metabolic conditioning(metcon) to skill practice with basic gymnastic movements.

Mobility & Recovery Class

Only at CrossFit Portland, the Mobility & Recovery class will focus on the 3-Wings of Circular Strength Training - Joint Mobility, Prasara Yoga, and Clubbells. We have scratched the surface of CST as a tool for recovery and mobility in CrossFit classes. In this focused class, you will be able to learn more in-depth movements and complex chains in all three wings of CST, especially geared towards mobility and recovery.

Gymnastics & Tumbling Class

Every class is loaded with full body functional exercises chosen to develop stronger backs, abdominal muscles, wrists, knees and ankles. Strength and conditioning are extremely important because we need power to perform many acrobatic moves. Also, your body needs to be prepared for when that trick you are trying doesn’t go exactly as you planned. You need to know how to land safely and absorb the energy of the fall. While this is primarily a conditioning and flexibility class, we will be covering the basic progressions of gymnastic stunts in this course. This will include rolls, cartwheels, walkovers, headstands and handstands.
