History of CrossFit Portland
CrossFit Portland was established by Scott Hagnas in March 2005. We were the first CrossFit in Oregon and one of the first 30 affiliates in the world (there are now more than 10,000!).
Members and visitors repeatedly inform us that we are the cleanest, the most organized, and pleasant CrossFit gym they have been to.
We’re housed in a 5,600 square-foot space designed with portability and flexibility in mind. We’ve created a large open space for this purpose.
The centerpiece of our facility is the custom-made jungle gym. It spans almost 60 feet and features skinny- and fat-grip bars set at multiple heights, and allows for much more than just pull-ups — Monkey-bar swings, ring swings (think American Ninja Warrior!), bar traversing, and anything else we can dream up.
We offer high-end barbells and weight plates, jerk boxes, medicine balls, kettlebells, dumbbells, club-bells, rings, boxes of various heights, 20-foot-tall climbing ropes, squat stands, sleds, yokes, tires, rowers, and Airdynes.
We offer changing rooms with showers, and for parents we have a child-care room at inexpensive rates.
Considering how little sun we do get in Portland, it was very important to create a training space that maximized natural light, and so we have almost 1,000 square feet of windows that flood the space with natural light. No longer do you need to spend every waking hour under fluorescents!
