Book Club – Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

The start of spring is a great time to read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingslover. It’s a great book that talks about a family’s year long experiment to only eat what they could either grow themselves or that was grown within their county. She also goes into a lot of other great information about the farm industry and farmer’s markets.

This book inspired me to change many habits, one of which was eating seasonly. You’ll find that it’s very compatible with a paleo lifestyle as well, and I’ve been enjoying it. As I say goodbye to squash I’m looking forward to spring and the bounty of fruits and veggies. Except at restaurants I haven’t eaten any salads since November. The other day I was goggling someone’s salad thinking how much I’m looking forward to them. It may not be for you, but it’s definitely something I would recommend.
